We’ve been really looking at data on how many Tweets do you really need to do to get you noticed and get your Tweets Retweeted.
We found some amazing data published by Fast Company that put out some excellent data produced by Social Bakers, Track Social and Moz on Tweet frequency.
Here are the quick takeaways:
1. Moz found that the life of a Tweet is the shortest of all social media, 18 minutes long. So you need to make sure you’re getting your Tweets in front of your audience at the right time.
How can you do this? Followerwonk is a tool that shows you when you’re Twitter following is active.
2. Because of #1 you should be Tweeting no less than 5 times per day. Track Social tracked a bunch of businesses and found an inflection point at 5 tweets per day. Being that the Tweet has the shortest lifespan you need to Tweet more to get in front of your followers more. Makes sense.
3. Social Bakers looked collectively at their customers who are bigger brands and they note that engagement rate per Tweet increases after 3 Tweets in a given day.
So track to see if you’re own engagement rate with Twitter and your Twitter traffic in Google Analytics increases over time if you’ve been increasing your Tweets per day!
