Track Our Startup: We’re Finally On Vacation

This would be a a great addition to Dasheroo dashboards wouldn’t it? ūüôā

Ok, we’ve been working pretty hard on your dashboards here at Dasheroo the past year and some of you who have been following us know we’re a distributed company. That said we can work from anywhere as long as we’re all ok with dealing with any customer and company issues from the time zone where¬†that issue occurs. Everyone at Dasheroo is aok with that.

This week we’re happy to announce that one of us is in Hawaii (or is it Hawai’i?) with the¬†family, one of his favorite places on Earth! Another member of the team is in New York visiting family with his family. The quality of life is an important aspect for all of us here at Dasheroo and to the extent we can, we take complete advantage of it.

We are big believers in living life¬†here at Dasheroo and balancing living life with servicing customers and pushing our company along. And we’re doing it. If we could have a gauge in our dashboards for balancing work/life…we would!

So while we’re busy working on the next integrations (Quickbooks, Active Campaign) and supporting the last releases (SendGrid, Facebook Ads, Google Adwords) we’re trying to enjoy our families in the summer months. So should you, life is short.

The Presidential nominations are over (whew!), the Olympics are beginning (yikes for Rio!) and summer is in full swing. Thanks for the support, rest-assured even from a beach or camping with our kids we are still checking in hourly if not more to make sure all of your dashboards are up and running.

Cheers and happy summer!

3 Unique (And Useful!) Ways to Use a Social Media Dashboard

Through the use of a social media dashboard, you can learn a lot about your business can’t you?

How much traffic are you generating from social media sites?

Which platforms are sending you the most qualified visitors?

These are just a couple of the many questions you can answer with the right marketing dashboard in place.

For those who have never used a social media dashboard, for those who want to spend more time on this in the future, here are three unique strategies to put to good use for your business.

1. Track Your Competition

Regardless of your industry, it’s safe to assume that you have quite a few competitors. We know we do!

It would be in your best interest to keep a close watch on your competition, including how they are performing on social media. By doing so, you can ensure that you are always one step ahead.

Here is an example of a social media dashboard that compares the growth of Dasheroo’s Facebook and YouTube¬†vs.¬†Geckoboard’s. Looks like both of us have to pump up our YouTube activity!

2. Engagement

When it comes to social media data, some numbers are more important than others depending on your business. But usually across the board it’s imperative to pay close attention to engagement, as this shows that your audience is truly interested in what you have to say.

For example,¬†Check out Dwight The Pup’s engagement rate on June 18 on our Dasheroo dashboard below, then look at what post drove it, more like that please!

Dasheroo Social Media Dashboard - Engagement on Facebook

3. Facebook Ads

If you want to push your Facebook reach to the next level, it may be time to run some ads and Facebook makes it not only easy, but cheap!

This is something we’ve discussed in the past, such as in our recent post on how to test Facebook ads.

With a social media dashboard, you can track a variety of data such as:

  • Impressions
  • Clicks
  • CTR (click-through-rate)
  • Actions (an action doesn’t have to be a click, it can be a “like” or “share as well)
  • Action Rate
  • Cost
  • Cost Per Click
  • Cost Per Action

Now that you have a few ideas on how to use a social media dashboard, it’s time to get started. We’d love for you to give Dasheroo a try!

Track Our Startup: Now Track KPIs for SendGrid + Google Adwords

Well here at Dasheroo we’ve been busy, as usual! Hope everyone who celebrates Independence day had a great one. We sure did!

New Releases

The past two weeks we got new insights for Google AdWords out the door, you can even filter down to the AdWords campaign level and down to the ad level. You’re also going to get to see your video performance KPIs too. Pretty exciting for a lot of our users.Dasheroo SendGrid Overview

This week we’ve also just released our SendGrid integration. If you use SendGrid for your confirmation and transactional emails you’re going to LOVE this. All of your delivered, opened, click, bounce and spam rates right at your fingertips.

Up next? We’re working on some new insights so you can track KPIs for Facebook Ads. We’ve also been working on new features for our PUSH API.

James our VP of Engineering spent the week bug fixing, something all of us software developers need to do but nobody likes to do it. Thanks James.

Dasheroo Continues to Climb…

We climbing in the search results for some pretty interesting keywords. We now rank for over 2000 keyword/phrases which we think is pretty cool. We’re neck-in-neck with our main competitor and they’ve been around for years!

KPIs

We’re keeping a close eye on our KPIs for the summer month slowdown. We just want to make sure we’re forecasting properly and hitting our numbers. Of course the month started slow but we’re aiming to get just over 2100 new users. So far we keep beating expectations so hopefully July won’t be too slow!

Tell your friends about Dasheroo, Cheers.

Startup Lessons Learned: Testing Facebook Ads

Dasheroo for Agencies - KPIsRecently we needed to drum up some leads for Mimi, our Director of Sales here at Dasheroo. Where did we turn? Facebook¬†Advertising of course. How easy is it to set up a Facebook Ad in minutes, get it approved in minutes and start to find out what works and what doesn’t.

So we started spending a mere $20/day to drive leads to a sign up form where people can get more information on Dasheroo for Agencies.

Facebook Mobile Might Not Work for Your Offering

If you’ve got an app that appeals to a mobile audience, include¬†placements on Instagram and Facebook Mobile. You should even set up separate ads so you can track each of them.

At Dasheroo we were getting a TON of traffic but no conversions because we selected our ad to be shown on Instagram and Facebook mobile.

Dasheroo Google Dashboard

So make sure you track where your website traffic is coming from. In this Dasheroo Insight we track Google Analytics by Device type. Just before the 16th of May you can see that our mobile traffic eclipsed our desktop traffic…weird.

Facebook Automatically Checks “Audience Network”.¬†

This means that your ad will be optimized for where it will get the most bang for your buck. However you might not get conversions from it. And that’s what happened to us.

From the graph below you can see that Facebook looked at the Cost per Result and found that the Audience Network was giving us a .08 per click. Nice but not when they don’t convert. And we found people were not converting from a mobile device. Less than 1% of our traffic was going to the desktop. Even though that Cost per Result was .54 cents they may have signed up for more information.

Facebook Ads Analytics

So now we went in and unchecked Audience Network!

Now we bumped our spend to $40/day. We’ll blog again when we see if there were any changes in conversion. Stay tuned!

3 Reasons to Regularly Review Facebook Analytics Data

Are you in the habit of regularly reviewing Facebook analytics data? If so, this is something that will continue to work in your favor well into the future. But if not, now is the time to make a change.

Just the same as other social networks, such as Instagram, there are reasons why you should keep a close watch on Facebook analytics data. Here are three of the best:

Dasheroo Facebook Analytics1. To Track Engagement

This includes the following:

  • Clicks
  • Shares
  • Likes
  • Comments

Engagement is a must, and you want to see all four of these metrics increasing with time. Taking this one step further, pay attention to the type of posts that receive the highest level of engagement. This will help you create more targeted content in the future.

Questions are always a good engagement mechanism, especially if they’re interesting! Videos are also a must for engagement on Facebook.

Dasheroo Facebook analytics2. To Better Understand Your Facebook Audience

It’s one thing to track engagement and notice a positive trend. It is another thing entirely to have a firm grasp of your audience. This means focusing on details such as:

  • Gender
  • Top languages
  • Top cities
  • Top countries

For instance if you see that you’re surprisingly getting more customers from a location you thought you wouldn’t you might want to target a Facebook ad campaign to people in that location to get more customers.

How much do you know about your Facebook audience? How are you using this data to your advantage?

3. To Improve Facebook Ads PerformanceDasheroo Facebook Analytics dashboard

Through the use of Facebook analytics, you can gain insight into the type of content that performs best. As a result of your findings, it becomes easier to create Facebook ads that increase reach and engagement.

If you plan on spending money on Facebook ads, you might as well get the most bang for your buck. This starts with reviewing analytics data.

You’ll want to see what type of ads get you the most clicks and impressions. For instance you can test different images on the same ad. Facebook will then serve up the ad with the image that gets the most engagement. Then you can turn the other ads off and test against it. Pretty cool huh?

Final Word

There are more than one billion people active on Facebook, but the majority don’t pay any attention to analytics data.

As you spend more time tracking, reviewing, and comparing this information, your opportunity for success goes through the roof. Could this be just what your business needs?

Track Our Startup: New Release Next Week + New Users!

We’ve got a lot going on at Dasheroo that we’re pretty excited about. We’re aiming to give you the best dashboard experience ever!

Release 27

All heads down on releasing a bunch of releases over the next few weeks. A few of the features include new Insights for Google Adwords, Facebook Ads and Instagram. We’re also getting ready to announce a new SendGrid integration plus a whole lot more.

We’ve actually released a few of these already “behind edge.” All that means to us is that it’s part of the live code so we can see that it actually works with our existing code, but users can’t see it yet until the rest of the release is ready to go.

Court our stud QA engineer and Nivi our awesome Product Manager have been killing themselves to get this out, thanks guys.

We’re hoping to get this live by next week, cross your fingers for us!

New Users!Dasheroo dashboard - SEO

We’ve been inching up the SEO scale for some pretty cool keywords. We use SEM Rush to track this. It’s pretty cool.

You can see from the image on the right that we’re in pretty good shape for Instagram keywords (page 1!) and climbing for “Twitter” and “KPI”. And they get a ton of search volume…woohoo!

Dasheroo dashboard feature requests

Our Zapier announcement continues to give us a ton of new users, and a lot of new integration requests. Check this out –> this was just in one hour. Alf has been BUSY!

Mimi our Sales Director is doing a¬†killer job closing deals. She’s already at 6 deals for the month which we love. Dasheroo dashboard - Hot leadsAnd tons of leads have been showing up at our site. Check this out –> this was just in the last 5 days.

James has been busy with scaling our product so that it supports all of these awesome users and their dashboards!

Track Our Startup: Instagram Changes + Zapier Grows Your Dashboard

Advil MemeWe’re heads down here at Dasheroo¬†with testing on our next release and it’s not without difficulty. New Insights for Facebook Ads and Google¬†Adwords are giving us a bit of a headache…Advil to the rescue!

Changes Abound at Instagram

Instagram has changed their API policies which is giving a lot of companies like ours yet another headache. As a result they’ve taken back some of the data they have been providing to us. For this reason we are not allowed to offer the Instagram competitive insight which affects about 500 of our users. Sorry, we still have some great Instagram stats you can’t get for free at companies like Iconosquare!

Faster Updates to Your Dashboards

Some of our users have experienced stats updating a bit slow. We’ve identified the issue and over the course of the next few weeks¬†we’ll be increasing throughput just a bit each day so we can monitor any scalability issues.

Zapier Makes Dasheroo Happier

Since we re-launched our Zapier integration with more data visualizations we not only are getting a huge spike of users using the Zapier integration and we HAD OUR BIGGEST DAY OF USERS EVER, but we also have a huge spike using our native integrations¬†as well, pretty cool, I’d say. Thanks for the love Zapier! Alf our VP of Customer Success has been VERY busy needless to say.
Oh, why use Zapier? Look, we get hundreds of requests to integrate with different 3rd party applications and while we want to do every one of them, it’s simply not possible. BUT, Zapier has integrated with a TON of 3rd party applications and they make it very easy for you to use them to integrate your data from hundreds of apps right into your Dasheroo dashboard. So give it a whirl!

Track Our Startup: Sendgrid Dashboards + New UI On The Way

We’ve been heads down getting releases out, getting our users to be active, getting sales in the door and getting the word out about Dasheroo because ¬†every business needs business dashboards!Sendgrid Dasheroo dashboard

With our last release behind us, we’re moving on to the next one and this one is NO slouch. We’ll be releasing an integration¬†we’ve had waiting in the wings, Sendgrid, and we’ve enhanced our pay-for-performance dashboards Facebook Ads and Google Adwords.

We’re also working on a brand new user interface! You’ll be able to get around your dashboards even easier than you do today.

We’ve also been hard at work on a larger release for those who need to manage roles and permissions as well as offering a per-user-based pricing. More to come on that as we get further along.

We’ll Take Your Seconds…

Our friendly¬†competitors over at Iconosquare have gone mad!¬†If you don’t know who they are they offer¬†dashboards for Instagram and they’re pretty good. However, they’re moving away from their free version, forcing users¬†to pay, and forcing users to sign up for the new version. I’m sure they have their reasons, but it’s something we may have avoided given the chance. That said, if you’re looking for an alternative to Iconosquare, Dasheroo would be happy to serve you!

Dasheroo Gets Great Press
