I know we’ve been quiet since announcing that we were winding down, but some great things have happened since we made that announcement in early October.
It turns out we got a bunch of interest from companies wanting to acquire Dasheroo for our expertise in helping businesses manage their KPIs. But the exciting news is that one very special company, led by long-term leaders in the small business marketing space, decided that Dasheroo was a great match and fit really well with the services they provide. We couldn’t agree more!
Yep, Dasheroo has been acquired, and we couldn’t be happier.
We want to give you a heads up, but an official announcement with more details will be made on Tuesday, December 6.
We both share a passion for helping small and mid-size businesses thrive, and now this combined company will help you take advantage of even more ways to grow your business.
So what does this mean for Dasheroo users?
Most importantly, your dashboards will live on and you’ll be able to keep tracking your important KPIs within Dasheroo!
Dasheroo will be a key part of a broader suite of amazing marketing automation & customer retention tools.
There’s going to be significant investment to support and grow the Dasheroo product so you’ll see more enhancements and new features.
For Dasheroo users who were previously on a paid plan prior to September 30, we’ll be extending our original promise of free service to December 15 until December 31st, 2016. After that, we’ll resume billing.
More details soon, we’re ironing out a bunch of stuff!
The kids are back to school and team Dasheroo is cranking away at all of the things we need to do to finish out the year with a BANG. We want tracking KPIs to be the best experience ever!
James is coming to the Bay Area in a week (he’s in Austin if you didn’t know) and we’re getting together to chat about the future of Dasheroo. I mean we do standups every day and we have weekly meetings on Zoom, but there’s nothing like looking at each other while you talk about important stuff. Should be a great time and ideas will flourish. Probably some great food will be consumed as well if you know us.
We’ve been wrestling with the decision of releasing the next performance upgrade so tracking your KPIs will be faster, or focus on getting new insights for Active Campaign and Google Analytics out the door. And even though James made some good progress on performance upgrades through the weekend he did hit some snags. Par for the course. We decided to refocus on remaining work that needs to be done on Active Campaign. So we’re working hard to try and get a release out this week.
Sales & Customer Success
September is off to a good start on the sales front. We’ve got an active pipeline of sales and it’s looking good to grow month over month. (See we’re tracking our own KPIs!) We already told you that Alf was working to get our newest customers trying to set up appointments with him using Calendy. It’s not totally working as good as we like so now he’s going to try to reach out to users who signed up but aren’t active. We’ll see what happens there. Maybe we’ll get some users becoming active after they chat with him. Alf is super friendly!
Thanks Agency Users!
We’ve been meeting with a few of our Agency users over the last few weeks. They are giving us hugely valuable feedback on what they like and what they’d like to see in Dasheroo. Thank you!
We’re still gearing up for a release hopefully in the next week with Active Campaign, some Google Analytics insights for your Google Dashboard and maybe a new billing tier. Stay tuned.
Alf our VP of Customer Success has set up a “Calendy” campaign where he sends email to our paying customers to see if they need any help with their onboarding experience. If you get an email from him and want to chat take him up on it it’s fun, just schedule a meeting based on when he’s available! Now he’ll be reaching out to people who have gone inactive to see if he can get them active with us again.
James our VP of Engineering worked on another round of performance fixes for dashboard loading. This is an extension of performance fixes he did two weeks ago. He’s addressing the amount it time it takes to load a new new data that comes in the dashboard. Speaking of James, he’s coming to San Francisco this month, always awesome to see him, he lives in Austin. More on our meetings later!
Since we have a bunch in the queue we’re focusing on potentially getting this performance stuff out first in the next few days before our integrations.
We had an awesome meeting with Active Campaign speaking of new integrations. Apparently they are hearing a lot of requests for Dasheroo. They seem excited to list us for their marketplace but not more excited than us!
Ok, time to get back to it. Cheers!
Well now that our last release is behind us here at Dasheroo, there’s a new one coming! We’re going to be adding a new pricing tier between FREE and $19 so be on the lookout for that. We’re also working on performance for your dashboards, killing some nasty bugs some users have experienced (sorry!), and our new integration with one of our most requested apps, Active Campaign, CRM for small business.
We think that we boosted performance for loading your dashboards by anywhere from 10-20%. So you should see your dashboards loading at a quicker pace. Thanks James! He’ll be looking at a few other places in our code where we can optimize performance. Everybody needs a speedy dashboard.
We’re doing some research on what new insights for QuickBooks Online users might want. We even asked our own internal accountants to weigh in. More on that as we know more.
Thanks to Nivi for reaching out to all customers who have asked for multi metric tracking in a Google Sheet. If you don’t know about it, it’s awesome.
Our summer started slow but man did it end on a high note. We got the most new customers in a given month ever. And Mimi killed it with her sales number as well. Way to go!
September is gearing up to be bigger and better so we have to get back to work!
We’ve been talking about our latest software release for a few weeks now. This stuff for sure isn’t easy. You have to merge new code with your existing code without making it “visible” to users until you QA the crap out of it. And that’s what we’re in the midst of, making sure when we do make it visible to you it won’t break your dashboards.
So our awesome team had hopes that we could do that last week but it didn’t happen for a variety of reasons. And it would be more work to release part of it then then whole thing. So you might have to wait a few more days to see all of the awesome work we’ve been doing on Dasheroo.
Remember, we’ve got the ability to track up to five KPIs in a line chart using your Google Sheets dashboard. Pretty cool stuff. That’s the one I’m going to put to good use.
Sales & Marketing
Mimi, our Director of Sales, is working on closing one of our biggest deals yet and we’re pretty excited about it. It will bring us a lot of users which is always awesome. Great job Mimi!
I was recently looking at our YouTube analytics dashboard and saw that we have a ton of views in the past week on Getting Started with Google Sheets. We try to have videos all over our help section of our website since we’re a pretty small team. In fact this particular video had almost 1500 views all time. That’s telling to us, we probably need more videos around using Google Sheets on your dashboards. Alf…..you’re so good at these 🙂
Are you looking at your YouTube analytics?
As we told you last week we’ve been busy on our next release for your dashboards due out later this week. What’s new? A bunch!!
New Features for Tracking KPIs On The Way!
The biggest request we get from those who track KPIs on a Google Sheets dashboard is support for tracking multiple KPIs on one sheet. Well in the next release you’ll be able to support FIVE!!
You’ll also get access to these new features right from within your dashboards so every time we do a release it will be even easier to find out all the goodies you’ll have access to.
We’ll also have a few Quickbooks Online insights to add to your dashboards. Now you’ll be able to track KPIs like your P&L right from Dasheroo.
We’re also working to get our Active Campaign dashboard out so you can track all of your marketing KPIs in one spot. That will likely make the release after this one. Great job guys!
We’ve been doing pretty good with our SEO lately. We use a tool called SEM Rush which we really like. It gives us great competitive intel for keywords that other businesses in our space are ranking for. We can easily see where we are plotted next to other businesses. In the chart on the right you can see that we are ranking for the most organic keywords that drive the right targeted traffic. Can you tell we love our graphs and charts here at Dasheroo? 🙂
Alf, our VP of Customer Success, has been busy recovering from the awesome onslaught of user questions and suggestions (which we love) from the Social Media Examiner article last week. It was an awesome article, How to Monitor Multiple Social Media Metrics in a Single Dashboard, thanks again @SMExaminer! We also had a record number of purchases we’ve ever had in a week.
Back to work!
Thanks to a HUGE mention in a Social Media Examiner article entitled: How to Monitor Multiple Social Media Metrics in a Single Dashboard, we got hundreds of users, a ton of quality leads (Mimi had 8 demos yesterday!) and we’re half way to our new customer goal and it’s only the 10th. Thanks Brandon Olson! He’s the Content Marketing Manager at AWeber, one of our email marketing partners.
Josh and Nivi have been working with James and our developers closely to gear up for our next release which will probably include a bunch of Google Sheets improvements. This will be great to add more metrics to a Google Dashboard along with Google Analytics KPIs and Google Adwords KPIs. We’re also working on a whole new integration with … Quickbooks Online! More on that as we finish up development but it’s going to be cool, very cool.
After that one of our most requested integrations will be released and that’s Active Campaign. For those of you who don’t know them they’ve got a killer marketing automation product which includes email marketing and CRM.
Nivi is going to spent this week looking at the Microsoft Excel API. Even though we’re huge Google Sheets users, there’s a ton of you who still heavily use Microsoft. Sigh.
There’s Chef Rabin of Muy Delicious!
Austin Food Truck!!
Our own Director of Sales Mimi and her husband have opened up an awesome FOOD TRUCK in Austin called Muy Delicious and boy does it live up to its name. Food trucks are popular there, all kinds of amazing chefs have opened them. What to eat? The Giddy Up’s Burger is to die for, the chicken Rich Ranch Tacos are amazing and My Butler’s Boneless Chicken Wings are a must-eat. If you’re in Austin on Manchaca Rd., you need to stop.
Bye for now!
This would be a a great addition to Dasheroo dashboards wouldn’t it? 🙂
Ok, we’ve been working pretty hard on your dashboards here at Dasheroo the past year and some of you who have been following us know we’re a distributed company. That said we can work from anywhere as long as we’re all ok with dealing with any customer and company issues from the time zone where that issue occurs. Everyone at Dasheroo is aok with that.
This week we’re happy to announce that one of us is in Hawaii (or is it Hawai’i?) with the family, one of his favorite places on Earth! Another member of the team is in New York visiting family with his family. The quality of life is an important aspect for all of us here at Dasheroo and to the extent we can, we take complete advantage of it.
We are big believers in living life here at Dasheroo and balancing living life with servicing customers and pushing our company along. And we’re doing it. If we could have a gauge in our dashboards for balancing work/life…we would!
So while we’re busy working on the next integrations (Quickbooks, Active Campaign) and supporting the last releases (SendGrid, Facebook Ads, Google Adwords) we’re trying to enjoy our families in the summer months. So should you, life is short.
The Presidential nominations are over (whew!), the Olympics are beginning (yikes for Rio!) and summer is in full swing. Thanks for the support, rest-assured even from a beach or camping with our kids we are still checking in hourly if not more to make sure all of your dashboards are up and running.
Cheers and happy summer!
At Dasheroo we’ve been a bit busy getting ready for our next business dashboard release, and cleaning up after our last one, a theme you keep hearing over and over but that’s the life of a SaaS software company isn’t it?
As with any software release there are usually a set of bugs that need fixing; bugs that were never expected but now irritate the
helloutta the masses. That’s what our product and engineering team has been working on since our mammoth release of SendGrid, Google AdWords and the Push API.
James and his team have started to go down a pretty gnarly punch list of things that need doing. You can see that it’s quite extensive. The most important one is Make dashboards load faster. Much faster.
So that’s what we’ve been working on, along with doing research at some next nifty integrations for your business dashboards, Quickbooks being one of them! Stay tuned on that one.
Where Are New Users Coming From?
Google drives the lion’s share of traffic for us here at Dasheroo. And since we are doing a small amount of advertising to drive leads for sales Facebook is a great source of leads that want business dashboards. You should know that Facebook runs your ads on the Facebook Audience Network. It’s basically Facebook serving ads on third party sites at a pretty low cost. For some it’s great since it’s a low cost, for us it was serving a ton of mobile ads and we weren’t getting a conversion.
Zapier continues to be a very active hose for new users and we launched with them the end of May. If you haven’t checked out all of the great things you can put on your dashboard do it!
We’ve been getting a ton of great feedback, users telling Alf what they want on a daily basis. Keep them coming in the door, we choose by how many requests we’re getting! Just a sample of a few on a given day –>
Well here at Dasheroo we’ve been busy, as usual! Hope everyone who celebrates Independence day had a great one. We sure did!
The past two weeks we got new insights for Google AdWords out the door, you can even filter down to the AdWords campaign level and down to the ad level. You’re also going to get to see your video performance KPIs too. Pretty exciting for a lot of our users.
This week we’ve also just released our SendGrid integration. If you use SendGrid for your confirmation and transactional emails you’re going to LOVE this. All of your delivered, opened, click, bounce and spam rates right at your fingertips.
Up next? We’re working on some new insights so you can track KPIs for Facebook Ads. We’ve also been working on new features for our PUSH API.
James our VP of Engineering spent the week bug fixing, something all of us software developers need to do but nobody likes to do it. Thanks James.
Dasheroo Continues to Climb…
We climbing in the search results for some pretty interesting keywords. We now rank for over 2000 keyword/phrases which we think is pretty cool. We’re neck-in-neck with our main competitor and they’ve been around for years!
We’re keeping a close eye on our KPIs for the summer month slowdown. We just want to make sure we’re forecasting properly and hitting our numbers. Of course the month started slow but we’re aiming to get just over 2100 new users. So far we keep beating expectations so hopefully July won’t be too slow!
Tell your friends about Dasheroo, Cheers.
